I had 3 beers on my birthday and got pulled over for not using my light signal on a lane change. The cop had me do a breathalyzer and it was just barely above the legal limit.

I spoke to an attorney and he said that if I do the required DUI school and community service that normally comes with a DUI conviction before my court date, that the DA may be willing to plea it down to only reckless driving. This is mainly because my BAC was barely over the limit and I am a first-time offender with a clean record.

Do I actually need to spend $3000+ on an attorney to arrange a deal or could I actually contact the DA’s office myself and see if they’d be willing to make a deal with me?

I have a friend has a DUI in King County and DWSL 3 in another county in Washington. The courts gave this 21yr old 5yr suspended sentence, 24hr jail time, and alcohol recovery classes. Is he a felon or a convict?

A friend of mine got a dui after leaving an employee appreciation event held by her manager at a bar where he purchased drinks for everyone. When she left she got a dui. Can her manager be held liable for her dui and should I contact her business and inform them of the conduct of their manager who was s#@*faced?
She was “let go” last Friday and feels it was unjustified and thinks her manager has something against her.

Thanks for your answers. Just to clarify, I’m not asking for myself - I’m asking for my sister who has received 1 dui in another state and is now living in CA. She has not received one in CA, but I’m planning on talking to her about her drinking problem and wanted to bring up what the consequences would be if she did receive another while in CA.
