Can a person work in the criminal justice field(corrections, parole, probation, attorney, or any law enforcement capacity) , if this disqualifies them from being a police officer. Does this still disqualify a person from being a police officer if this happen 15 years ago, why or

Nope, the DUI will disqualify you.
go to mexico and be a cop
you a weirdie?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i dont think so
Sure you’ve got all the qualifications. Go for it.
Believe me they have very strict qualifications and since you have been tried for murder and found not guilty then I would say just follow your dream.
For a law enforcement background check, they will have access to the details of the murder charge. If there was enough evidence to bring the matter to trial, I doubt any agency is going to take a chance on you. The DUI would be the least of your problems.
I’m not aware of any states that disqualify you on a DUI, but by reading other posts, it could be possible.
Not to give you a cop-out (excuse the pun) answer but it really does depend on the individual department. Consult them. I would say that the higher you go, (municipal, county, state, federal) the harder it is to get accepted with any convictions on your record.
I know 3 cops that had DUI’s when they were younger. The murder thing i’m not so sure about.
You could be a COP.
Depends……Which State? Which Department? How extensive of a back ground?
Many Agencies do a complete back ground check. It would have to be an administrative decision as to whether or not that they hold the not guilty charge against you or not.
I have a friend who had a DUI and is a COP. It was over 5 years ago
