Is it possible to sue for attorney fees?
!@#$$ asked:
I live in Georgia, My children’s father filed contempt charges against me for a previous court order. I hired an attorney to represent me on the charge. Two days before the court date he filed to the court to have the case dismissed and provided no reason. The case was dismissed and taken off the calendar. I have already paid my attorney and he had prepared for the case. Can I recover my attorney fees from my children’s father?

Sure. You can take him to small claims court and sue him for the fees from that case and the fees you will occur by suing him in the new one. Be sure you have ALL the documentation such as his filing charges and the dismissal and also the bills and proof of payment from your attorney.
You can claim court costs which include everything used to get to court to that day (including attorney fees). So yes, you can claim them in a court.
I dont know if thats true, but I have heard it from people. I ahve also heard it on shows like judge judy/jude mathis, etc. when they sue for court costs/fees.
I was unable to find anything on it, so go talk to the court and ask them, or ask your lawyer since he didn’t represent you fully in court, you only pay him for the time spent talking with you and not the full wage.
